Isn’t There Somebody?

Isn’t there somebody that can give me a hug?

Isn’t there somebody that cares about me?

Isn’t there somebody that isn’t too selfish

To get out of self and rescue without a fee?

 

Isn’t there somebody that loves me for me

And won’t ask a million questions from A to Z

Trying to find out how I came to be

Broken and wretched and unable to see?

 

Isn’t there somebody whose life is like mine?

Isn’t there somebody who camps on a dime?

Isn’t there somebody who feels like slime?

Isn’t there somebody who knows I’m running out of time?

 

Who pulled the plug and let my bottom fall?

Who turned the lights out in my narrow hall?

Who took the key and locked the door shut?

Who took a knife and widened my cut?

 

Isn’t there somebody who claims to understand?

Isn’t there somebody who uses my brand?

Isn’t there somebody who can give me a hand?

Isn’t there somebody who can help me stand?

 

Someone like your Jesus that you say died on the cross,

Someone like Him who could be my boss,

Someone like Him who will pay the cost,

Someone like Him who helps the lost.

 

Are you his agent and can you be the one?

Are you like him or are you just having fun?

Are you the one who can take this gun

Or are you like me and consider all is done?

 

I’m waiting for somebody to show me the way

When I can no longer hold the wolves at bay.

I’m waiting for somebody to be here today.

Isn’t there somebody upon whose breast I can lay?

 

Isn’t there a Father, Son and Holy Ghost?

Isn’t there a Spirit to be my host?

Isn’t He the One on whom I can boast?

Isn’t He the One you say you love the most?

 

Somebody is calling for you to witness to them about Jesus and what He did on the cross. How much more needs to be said before you answer and help him/her find the way… before it is too late. Isn’t there somebody?
