Babies - Guilty or Innocent?
Being innocent is not the same as being "NOT guilty". All are born in sin (Romans 3:23) but babies are innocent until they come into the knowledge of the difference between good and evil. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died (Romans 7:9). Babies aren't bound by the law. They are alive. When they get older, are able to comprehend and are commanded to do something, they must make a choice whether to obey the command or not. The realization of sin then becomes evident and they must choose to "die" to self so that the life of Christ can live in them.
