To Submit or Not to Submit

Ephesians 5:22 says ...Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. "Submit" often means "conflict" in some relationships. Try using the word "yield" instead of "submit". When I was working, I had to obey the orders given to me by my immediate supervisor or manager providing it was not immoral or illegal. As part of my work assignment, I was required to do it whether I agreed with the assignment or not. Otherwise I was considered negligent or derilect in my duties and would risk not getting paid or fired. After I obeyed the order, I could file a grievance if I so desired. If I yield to my spouse's instructions but earnestly perceive that he is wrong it is my responsibility to file my grievance (prayer request) with God. God works all things together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes. Romans 8:28
