Inevitable
How do you respond to things that are predicted and actually happen? I remember a few years ago I was talking to a single young lady who had recently found out she was expecting a baby. In the course of the conversation, I was a little taken aback when she said, "it was inevitable". Her tone was that of someone who took complete responsibility for her actions.
There are many inevitable things in life, things that are certain and/or unavoidable. God promised that as long as the earth remains, there will be seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). It's inevitable.
Proverbs 6:27 asks if a man can take fire in his bosom and not be burned. If a man takes fire in his bosom, he will be burned. It is inevitable.
Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you sin, you will die. It is inevitable. If you receive the gift of life through Jesus Christ, you will have eternal life. It is inevitable.
