Running With Horses
Little things have such a tendency to get in the way of projects. It's such an annoyance. Just when it seems as if everything is alright, the bottom falls out and just as that happens, your patience, tolerance, kindness and all those nice controlled words seem to fly out of the window. I remember a lady at one of my work sites. She was so nice and had the most pleasant disposition. She always greeted me with a big smile and expressed how glad she was to see me at her site.
Once when I was coming from lunch and crossing the parking lot, I heard shouting, cursing, etc. and witnessed the most violent temper I had seen in a while. A vendor had parked in a place that the woman considered "her" spot even though there were no assigned spaces. You can imagine how surprised I was when I realized it was the same lady I worked with that was creating all of the commotion. It was as if I was looking at two different people. Most of us are quite content when things are going our way but it is a different story when "my" way is not your way.
There are so many people who desire to be used mightily by God. I wonder if God sees us when we are not at our best and if He has determined that we are just not ready for that mighty assignment. If you have run with men on foot and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses? Jeremiah 12:5
