I Am -The Boss

I worked in the city. I frequented a popular storefront restaurant and was often greeted by the staff with their familiar question, "what I can do for you boss". I was always amused as I thought deeply about the fact that I was not their boss. The sentiment was appreciated. They were there to serve me and in that sense, I was "the boss".

There are plenty of stories in the Bible that make you question who really is the boss. In Genesis, God gave Adam dominion over all the works of His hand (Genesis 1:26). Was Adam the boss? Wives are to be subjective to their husbands (1 Peter 3:5). Does that mean the husband is the boss?

Moses was sent to deliver the Israelites from the Pharaoh in Egypt? During the confrontation, who would have guessed who the real boss was. Was it Moses or Pharaoh? Well, we know 'after the fact' that Moses had the upper hand, but Moses was not the boss. Exodus 3:14 records that God told Moses "I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." God, "I AM", was and is "The Boss". Selah
