Jamaica Mission Trip

JB and I were blessed to be a part of a mission trip to Jamaica 7/18/25-7/28/25.

We thank you for your prayers and other support. We were concerned that we would not be able to continue AISS for the 2 sessions during the time that we would be away since God has allowed us to have a continual teaching from the first Monday in 2020 through the present. The only exception was when we missed the Monday when we transitioned from meeting in the Logan Center in Hackensack to going online. However, Wanda, Karen and Zeke stepped up to the plate as well as each of you who continued to call in. We are very grateful for your prayers & monetary support. What a delightful surprise. We personally perceived your prayers at several points during the trip. We thank you immensly for your contribution to spreading the gospel.

We ministered with the organizers, Pastors Andrew and Cheryl McGibbon of Naba Hokmah Ministry. Pastors Solomon and Ebere Tetteh of Life Transformation Ministries and Global Intercession Mission were also a part of this mission trip. Pastor Solomon is originally from Guana and Pastor Ebere is originally from Nigeria.

Our, gratefully uneventful, non-stop flight took us from JF Kennedy Airport in NY to Norman Manly Airport in Kingston Jamaica. We stayed in Kingston, St. Andrew, Jamaica W.I. The 3 story structure housed each of us in hotel type rooms with our own separate bath. We gathered for breakfast which was rich with local food and fruits, many of which we had never seen or tasted before. The meals were generally prepared by a host of individuals from the various churches where we ministered. The sugar content seemed higher (in my opinion) because the fruit was truly natural so JB and I both experienced feet swelling until we realized what was happening and cut back on the amount of fruit we ate.

The bulk of the driving for our travel was done by brother Michael Leslie. All 7 of us (forgot to mention Mrs. Pearlina Francis – Mother of Cheryl) piled into a van with Michael as the driver when we were traveling to the same destination. He is a phenominal driver. I must admit that I held my head down much of the time because, travel is on the left and not the right side of the road as we are used to here in the U.S. It seemed to me as if the cars were going to crash into us at any minute, but thankfully there was not one vehicle incident.

Ministry Host Churches were:

1. Calvary Evangelistic Assembly in Andrews Jamaica, W.I.; headed by Pastor AnnMarie Peccoo

2. Franklin Town New Testament Church of God in Kingston Jamaica, W.I. by Pastor Rev. Seth Romero

3. Mineral Heights New Testament Church of God in Clarendon, Jamaica, W.I. by Pastor Rev. Stanley Ivey

4. Restoration Fellowship Mission in St. Catherine Jamaica, W.I. by Pastor Rev. Rufel and Nelda McIntosh.

Our pleasant undertaking was finding that many of those to whom we ministered were already well versed in the Word of God. We learned from them and prayerfully they learned from us.

The overall theme of the mission was “The Power of Prayer and Intergenerational Ties”. Some subtopics included Spiritual Strongholds, Understanding Legacy and Authority for Generations, Future Proofing for Generations, Practice the Presence, Prophetic Positioning and others. Each speaker was responsible for researching their topic and presenting it within the time and congregational confines given. We were not all able to be in the same session at all times so it was a unique experience to be transported to your speaking or ministering engagement by a sister or brother that you just met. To God be the glory for the brother and sisterly relationship and fellowship of Christians. The educational and pentecostal type ministering was an awesome experience. I greatly admire the organization and coordination of housing, speaking assignments, travel and all the other factions that went into planning such an event.

There was time for some sight seeing which enabled us to visit Devon House, Port Royal, Bath and Dunns River Falls Park .

Our return flight was equally uneventful even though JB and I were not able to get a direct flight back to Kennedy airport in NY. However, I can now say that I have had my feet on the ground in Trinidad which is where we flew for a short layover before the direct flight back to Kennedy.

I personally have ministered many times in the NY tri-state area doing workshops, prayer breakfasts, pulpit presentations, etc., but this was my first opportunity to minister outside of the U.S. The events and stories surrounding this mission are too many and varied for this allotted space but hopefully this will give you a hint of our experience. Again, thank you to the AISS family supporting us in this venture and to God be the glory.

Following is a link to the presentation that I was privileged to do at Mineral Heights New Testament Church of God. There is a wonderful time of praise and worship and my part begins with the introduction around 1 hour and 30 minutes in. Yes, that’s me in the polka dot top. I hope you enjoy listening.

Finally, Pastors Solomon and Ebere Tetteh, Overseers of The Church of New Beginnings in Accra, Ghana, The Life Transformation Ministries, and The Global Intercession Mission in Mount Vernon, New York, have authored a book entitled “Happy Father’s Day – So You Call Yourself a Father?" It came out in March of this year. We were blessed to be presented with an autographed copy of the book. I have already read it all the way through. It is quite enlightening and I highly recommend it. The book can be purchased at both Amazon and Barns and Noble book stores.
