Poor Wise Man

No. 303 Squadron RAF was one of two Polish squadrons to fight during the Battle of Britain. Flying Hawker Hurricanes, the squadron claimed the largest number of aircraft shot down of the 66 Allied fighter squadrons engaged in the Battle of Britain, even though it joined the fray two months after the battle had begun. "Had it not been for the magnificent material contributed by the Polish squadrons and their unsurpassed gallantry," wrote Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, head of RAF Fighter Command, "I hesitate to say that the outcome of the Battle (of Britain) would have been the same." Sadly, according to some sources No. 303 Squadron was not even invited to the London Victory Parade of 1946.

Ecclesiastes 9:15 speaks of a king and its people. A great king surrounded this king and people with its armed forces, built a solid wall-like structure and raised it for a defense against them. However, a poor wise man by his wisdom delivered the city but afterwards no man remembered this poor wise man.

How ironic it is that things do not always pan out as expected. Yet, there is hope. Mordecai sat in the kings gate Esther 2:19. He gave his uncle's daughter Esther to the king's house. She was eventually chosen as Queen. Her actions saved the Jewish people, her people from death. Afterwards, Mordecai was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

Are you poor? Are you wise? Do you seek glory? Let the wisest One (Jesus Christ) determine if you will get it on this earth or in eternity.
